Client: City-level Planning Department, Middle East
Challenge
150,000+ parcels contained slivers, overlaps, and attribute inconsistencies that prevented the adoption of a new city master plan.
What we did
- Built an ArcGIS Topology rule set (Must Not Overlap / Must Not Have Gaps)
- Batch-fixed geometric errors and dissolved stray micro-polygons
- Standardised attribute fields and linked each parcel to official zoning codes

Utility networks were documented in over 120 unreferenced DWG drawings, rendering network analysis impossible.
What we did
- Scripted DWG ➔ File Geodatabase conversion in ArcPy
- Re-projected everything to UTM Zone 40 N with rigorous QA
- Split and symbolised sewer, water, and power lines per UAE utility standards

Challenge

What we did
- Classified multi-date Sentinel-2 imagery (Random Forest) to derive annual urban footprints
- Generated growth-density heat maps and 500 m buffer alerts around ecological reserves

Challenge

- Designed a multi-feature File Geodatabase with domains/subtypes for vegetation classes
- Added spatial and attribute indexes, vacuumed raster pyramids
- Documented metadata to ISO-19115 standards
Impact
Query time for a 2 GB raster layer decreased from 45 seconds to under 5 seconds, accelerating map-making and statistical analysis in both QGIS and ArcMap.
